Dr. Jessica Rothman is a Professor of Anthropology at Hunter College of the City University of New York, USA. She received her PhD in Animal Nutrition from Cornell University, USA in 2006. She then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at McGill University, Canada in 2008. In 2018, Dr. Rothman became an Honorary Wildlife Officer at the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Dr. Rothman and her research group conduct field work on the feeding biology of monkeys and apes in the forests of Uganda, where she has been working since 1997. She also directs the Primate Nutritional Ecology Lab at Hunter College where primate foods from around the world are analyzed for their nutritional composition. She has published over 90 scientific papers. Her program is actively embedded in conservation and training through strong linkages with the Uganda Wildlife Authority and Makerere University in Uganda.
